This is the answer Fotis provided in the past for the same problem:
The problem obviously lies with wrong permissions... So installing the latest SIG version just won't override some files... I strongly suggest you download Admin Tools from akeebabackup.com and use the built-in function to repair permissions. Then install the latest SIG version.
If that doesn't work, consult your hosting company, cause sooner or later you WILL stumble into a weird situation with another component, related to permissions... One more thing... make sure you don't see an old override in your template... can happen sometimes..
