[Solved] The code is showing on the page, not the images was created by Celeste Anton - Forward Theater
We have simple image gallery installed on our site but we are doing something wrong because instead of a gallery showing the code shows on the page as text instead. For example:{gallery}FTC_Media/photos/EVE{/gallery}

Here's a live page that is doing it: www.forwardtheater.com/about/history/200910-season/why-torture-is-wrong-and-the-people-who-love-them/preview-photos

What am I doing wrong?  I enter the code in the article in the HTML editor.

What's a "SIG version?" How do I find the answer to this question?

Hello Katia,
I am facing the same problem with SIG Version 3.0.0

I have enabled the plugin, checked the rights to my folde and images inside but still nothing.

I have set the root folder to images at the plugin config. I have a folder named photog in the images folder and when inserting the code {gallery}photog{/gallery} to an article I have made I get the error that there is no such folder.

Here is my url:
argolidaexpo.gr/index.php/photo

The path for the image folder seems to be incorrect. Where is the folder with your images located?

Hello Giwta,
my entire folder path is argolidaexpo.gr/images/photog

{gallery}photog{/gallery}
is the text I have in the article
and in the plugin config I have images as root folder
docs.google.com/file/d/0B4wxEQ6Do659MDlIWmJfbjQyRE0/edit?usp=sharing

Also folder and images rights are checked and are 755 to all.

Ps you are Greek, is this a Greek company?

Could you please check that the cache folder permissions are correct as well?
PM me access to your backend to check it out if you want.

I think that your problem relates to your server's "owner" permissions for files. In other words, if Joomla cannot perform read/write operations via PHP, then it will not work properly. Either enable the Joomla! FTP layer or better still, contact your hosting company and ask them to fix any "owner" related permission issues.

You had a misconfiguration of your path information in your database for that images folder. It was not permissions related.

that was the problem!!!

Hi again,

So I tried another gallery and it didn't work out. So I disabled SIG (I know what that means now) and downloaded the latest version (for Joomla 2.5) and installed that into my Joomla. Please help! I have spent HOURS on something that seems like it is supposed to be so simple.

If I am in the Joomla media manager, is that considered to be a folder called images?

Once I have installed the extension, what steps exactly do I have to take to activate it? Do I have to set permissions somewhere? I can't find any information online that just tells me step-by-step "here's how to set up this extension."

I feel like it must be just a problem with the path, but I am going around in circles!

But regardless, why does it actually show the shortcode on the page? If it's not working, shouldn't that still not show if it's a shortcode? I've tried placing it in the html window but it still shows.

:'(
