I have been using Simple Image Gallery for years, and I love the simple plugin.

Recently thumbnail pictures disappeared on my site. Maybe after upgrading to Joomla 2.5.16 - but I can't rule out other reasons.

I have tried the steps explained in other threads:

Restoring file/directory permissions via Admin Tools. They all look right in FileZilla 755/644.
My hosting provider also reset the owner permissions.

The thumbnails are generated in the /cache/jw_sig folder - but are not displayed. If I inspect a gallery in FireBug it says "failed to load given url" for all the thumbnail/background pictures - even though I can see that the URL is correct.

If I click the white thumbnails the full size gallery appears perfectly.

Can you suggest me anything?

If you are using the Admin Tools htaccess maker, make sure that it doesn't prevent access to that cache folder.
