- If the popup image opens in a new window, it means there's some javascript conflict with another extension in your site. So report what other extensions you have and provide some URL. Since SIG uses Slimbox (=Mootools based) if you have any jQuery based extensions it will probably conflict.
- When the thumbs in SIG free do not appear but popups work, it's clearly a permissions issue. The image and the showthumb.php file might need 755 or 777 to work properly and this setup entirely depends on your hosting company. If I remember correctly, Siteground (quite popular among joomla/mambo users) needs 755. But most hosting companies will "just work". SIG Pro uses an entirely different mechanism to create the thumbs, so 99,99% you will not face permissions issues. Check out the SIG Pro section to see what people talk about.
- You can't use Simple Image Gallery with JoomlaWorks' AJAX Header Rotator. Prefer to use the "Simple Image Rotator" in place of the "AJAX Header Rotator".
- SIG works just fine with Mambo.
- I see the image "stuck" on top in IE or the transparent black area is shown as a thin bar on top of the website in IE. These 2 issues are IE related only. The reason for these problems is the XML declaration in your template. If you remove it then SIG will work. You shound be aware that using the XML declaration in templates is "bad" templating practice because it causes IE to not render html/css code as it should. That's why you don't see the nice frames wrapped around the images, like it shows in FF.
More FAQs will be included soon. Feel free to add yours below.

We are not support 1.5version yet because it's RC version when Joomla.org will release Joomla v1.5 final/stable then we will support it.

like many other posts in this forum I want to draw your attention to that it does not seem to work that well.
Issues with Joomla 1.5 (any version):
1. Installation text in Plugin becomes messed up. i.e. it's presented in raw code format.
2. The 'root' directory parameter is nowhere to be found
3. Inserting the code string into an article only gives back... the code string.
4. Some seems to have installed SIG, but so far no one has stated what version of CMS
they're using. This leads me to believe that they either use Mambo or Joomla 1.0
5. There is no compatibility statement of SIG to be found on these pages
Forum would appreciate some clarity round this topic that seems to have been circling here since last year...
Thanx!

Please note that these extensions are compatible with Joomla! 1.0.x and Mambo 4.5.x/4.6.x for the moment. Native Joomla! 1.5 versions will also be available within February 2008.

OK, a few notes for everyone regarding Simple Image Gallery (free version) -or SIG for shorthand...
- If the popup image opens in a new window, it means there's some javascript conflict with another extension in your site. So report what other extensions you have and provide some URL. Since SIG uses Slimbox (=Mootools based) if you have any jQuery based extensions it will probably conflict.
I am experiencing the problem on 2 of my sites (using rt_colormatic and rt_versatility_iii templates). The only two modules that i am using that i thought might interfere is the s5_image_and_content_fader and the mod_vvisit_counter. I did unpublish them, but the plugin still opens in a new window. I really dont know what other javascript can cause the problem? The 2 urls to the sites are www.internationaltextiles.co.za (catalogue page - click on one of the ranges) and www.attihost.com/atthevilla1 (on the rooms & rates page)
If you could please give advice, I would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance!

The pop up images work fine. The thumbs don't appear. I can see tiny white icons where the thumbs should appear. I changed permissions on the showthumb.php file to 755 and 777 still no success. I host on Lunarpages if that matters.
any help appreciated
thanks

If anyone else has had this problem and things they might have it figured out, let me know. I'm using a premium themed called Vintage.
I thought the problem could be a z-index thing, so I went into the plugins css file and found the z-index in the code, but it was already set to 999, which, obviously, is plenty.
Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

OLD directory name that used to work before..
/images/stories/snow020209
Changed directory name to snow without the numbers and started to work again.
/images/stories/snow
It's working fine now.
Yiota, thank you for taking time to look into this.
