Hello!
I have such a problem. Once you have used the SIG (free) popup the page beneath has been scrolled back to the top and when you close popup you are left at the top of the page whatever part of page you were before.

I have already looked through the forum.
I found these topics to be closest to my issue:

All of them propouse to deal with template's core CSS. Which I would like not to touch.
Are there any other ways to solve this issue?

I use template from rockettheme, they told me there is no problem with Z-index in my case (I was told so at rockettheme forum)
My domain is carlsbadevelopment.com/

I used SIG free with this template before on Joomla 2.5, but now I have this issue with Joomla 3.0 and appropriate template generation.

If there someone who had such issue?

This is a CSS issue.
In the html element remove the height: 100% property.
