??? I know these issues have been discussed before, but I found no clear solution to the problems. I've installed and configured SIG to work on a J1.0 site:

File permissions: 755 for executables; 644 for images
Firefox problems: No thumbnails (blank bars--see attached JPG), pop-up appears in new tab but "blank" slimbox appears over front page
IE 7 problems: No thumbnails (red-x box instead); pop-up appears in new IE7 window
Additionally, the server returns this error code:
imagepng() [<a href='function.imagepng'>function.imagepng</a>]: gd-png: fatal libpng error: zlib error in /home/jrtcllcc/public_html/acmetreadway/mambots/content/plugin_jw_sig/showthumb.php on line 58
Regarding the GD Image Library, the Web Host has installed GD2, not GD. If this is the issue, the plugin should be set up to use GD2. I haven't found the instance of GD or GD2 in the plugin PHP pages, however.
I need to emphasize the fact that I'm not a programmer, PHP or otherwise. I put together Web sites and write technical documentation, instead.
I appreciate all comments and suggestions. I hoped to go to the Pro version after seeing how the public version worked for this site. I build sites and maintain about 12 Joomla CMS sites for clients.
