In both Firefox and IE the images only display vertically which is ridiculous!

I have looked at the various php, xml and css files but can't see what to tweak. The css has styles for .sig .sig_clr .sig_thumb .sig_thumb img which looked promising but don't seem to occur in any of the other files! I have commented them out, changed them, but nothing seems to have any effect [although I did manage to get rid of the white background].

I am new to Joomla. The REALLY silly thing is that when first installed the SimpleImage thing it displayed the thumbs horizontally but I had all sorts of other things wrong with the joomla setup. In getting things right it seems SimpleImage now sulks.
