Please see the link below, i'm using the SIG free version, once i click on the thumbnail, it distorts one of the other images on the screen. This happens in IE/FF but works fine in chrome.

You seem to have a problem with javascript conflicts.
The popup engine doesn't seem to work in either FF/IE or Chrome. It opens the images in a different page.

You could try changing your template to the joomla default and check if the gallery is working then, just to determine that it's something that has to do with your template.

Unfortunately SIG doesn't support multiple libraries (Mootools, jQuery) like the Pro version does.
