Cannot change Permissions - need workaround for SuExec

I am very keen to use SIG but my host provider (Easily.co.uk) does not allow permissions to be changed, saying:

"Please be aware that on our Linux platform it is not possible to change file permissions and should not be required due to the use of a SuExec script which is put in place for the security of the servers.

"If you are trying to run a third party script it is recommended that you check if the developers have created a SuExec work around as the use of the script is now common with hosting companies."

I have searched the SIG forum and found nothing on this topic.
I would be very grateful for advice on such a workaround
