Hi there,
first of all, the plugin ("Simple Image Gallery PRO" Plugin v2.0.5 for Joomla! 1.5.x) works fine, everythings running just the way it should. I'm happy having it bought. :)
Well... it could actually be the "perfectly suitable for all needs!" gallery plugin, if you could somehow use individual thumbnails instead of generated ones. That's the only thing I really miss.
I often use the feature of having the thumbnail show just a detail of the actual image. That is of course not possible with the plugin, I understand that.
But I wonder:
1. Would that not be a feature interesting enough to put on the "roadmap for upcoming features" list? :-\
2. Would it not be possible to get the plugin show individual thumbnails if I adjust the engine a bit?
ok, if I have my images here:
/images/stories/my-gallery
and then put my - individually produced - thumbnails here:
/images/stories/my-gallery/thumbnails
would it not be possible to alter the PHP-script so that the HTML output would always use the thumbnails from that subdirectory (/thumbnails) instead of automatically generating them?
Alas, I am not a coder, and taking a look at the PHP-files that come with the plugin, I did have to see that this goes beyond my skills. But maybe someone's interested in doing that? I know that other people around here have been missing this feature, too... :-)
Thanks for listening. :)
It would be great of course if some exceptionally gifted coder could post a solution here. Of course, if the same comes to the conclusion that "there is no easy solution to this", it would be a valuable information, too. *snif*
Thanks again for a great & easy to use plugin.
Cheers,
Frank
