I too had no language file, and as it looks, there should be a plg_k2_userExtendedFields.ini file. Not in my install file anywhere. Hmm?
I have the en-GB.plg_k2_userExtendedFields.ini file in my language folder it just doesn't read it...

at line 26:
JPlugin::loadLanguage('plg_k2_'.$this->pluginName, JPATH_ADMINISTRATOR);
it seems that's something wrong here...

I have used 6 hours trying to find out myself, since K2 or JoomlaWorks is not responding on this.
I can manage to get Yaksushi fix to work in backend, but not in frontend.
I go write in the /userExtendedFields/tmpl/default.php file directly now. Can't use anymore time on this.
I will have no language support for this plugin then. For now thats OK.
Hope to hear from developers!
Henrik

Make sure you did both language files

I added the following to the en-GB.com_k2.ini file
