Gallery Not Showing was created by Bryan Smith
I'm a little unclear on getting gallery items to show. I'm trying to upload a zip of jpgs. Is that correct? It seems to take it but I can't get any galleries to render.

I have SIG Pro v2.0.4 for Joomla! 1.5.x. Joomla 1.5.11

This is my output for an article that should have a gallery.
!-- JoomlaWorks "Simple Image Gallery PRO" Plugin (v2.0.4) starts here --

SIG OK HERE - link to normal joomla article with sig embed

When you upload the zip file in the backend and images get extracted, do you see a preview of the gallery? If you don't, it seems you're dealing with permission issues with your /media/k2/ folders.

no, I don't see a preview of the gallery.

I just checked permissions on /media/....

each folder on the path has 0755 permissions

2 strange things.

1) There are two K2 folders under media
/media/K2 (empty)
/media/k2 (has all the galleries I've uploaded to date)

2)
ogdencityarts.dataz.com/contact.html
The gallery on this link is created by me and SIG by hand, but it IS one of the galleries that I uploaded using K2. I just changed SIG default path and then tried to access it that way, but they are image from a k2 gallery upload. I'm thinking that this indicates something other than permissions?

So, when I upload a zip of images it gets there. I just don't see it from admin preview or from front end either.

Thanks

another bit of info here.

I just checked the database and it looks like the gallery code is in the database. {gallery}1{/gallery}

so the database has the correct gallery code, the files are on the server in the correct folders. SIG test ok for images that were uploaded from k2 admin side

but the gallery code is not appearing in the item view

does this still sound like permissions?

Someone Please Help me here. Don't know what to do at this point. This is the biggest issue right now on my first K2 site ready to go live!!

PROBLEM: Gallery Tags are not getting inserted into item content.

*Looks like permissions are OK,
*Looks like the images ARE on the server,
*SIG can load K2 gallery from a standalone call on regular joomla article,
*gallery tags ARE in the mysql tables, pointing at the correct gallery.

This is my item view page output. No gallery tags inserted at all. However they are in the mysql tables!

Fotis, I can confirm this to be an issue on my site too and of a few others that have posted recently. I had one new article that the gallery uploaded the images fine, all permissions were fine but the {gallery} tags were all that were showing, on creating a new article the 1st gallery is now showing but the one in the new article is not.

There does seem to be a few irritating niggles on this version, gallery not showing, content item titles not linkable etc.

Ok, just to be clear.

I'm not getting gallery tags in my content, but they are in the database. For every gallery I have uploaded the tags are in the db, and so are the images in the /media/k2 folder

I also do not have clickable title tags, but don't see any params for that either so not sure if that is a feature of K2 although I thought I clicked a title early on. Not sure if this is related but it would be nice to solve that next!! :)

Im looking into this myself, the default SIG folder is www.yoursite.com/images/stories/(gallery folders here). K2 exports to www.yoursite.com/media/k2/galleries/(gallery folders here). We need to find a way to either put the K2 media into the standard layout (1) or point SIG at K2 media folder...

Hi again. In order to have your galleries displayed you need to use the latest version of SIG Pro. The standard free version of SIG hasn't been updated yet to work with K2. The update for the free version of SIG is coming in the near future.

Hi Lefteris,

Not sure who you were replying to but I'm using SIG Pro v2.0.4 for Joomla! 1.5.x. Joomla 1.5.11

you can see that from the code snippets I've posted.

Thanks,

The calendar is a "spud" coming from an external calendar system called Trumba. All Ogden City Organizations have bought into and use Trumba.

If you're using Pro version the first option in the plugin params is where the root gallery folder is.

In my case I've changed this param to be /media/k2/galleries/

"the default SIG folder is www.yoursite.com/images/stories/(gallery folders here)"

Does this change if we change the default images folder in our joomla! configuration?

I am having the same problem, plus all tabs except the wysiwyg editor are locked and inaccessible for that item but no others...

SIG Pro v2.0.4 with folder set to /media/k2/galleries/, Joomla 1.5.14, JCE Editor,

All folder permissions are 755

Images are properly uploaded to a folder called /4/Item Name-Here

All I can think of is that having spaces in the item name may be causing the issue, or perhaps JCE editor clash.

The locked tabs have magically unlocked so I was able to upload a new zip file. The gallery takes its name from the name of the zipped folder.

Then I realised that I'd has this problem with another Joomla Gallery - the answer is to hilight all the images in the folder and zip them! When you zip the folder itself the pathway is wrong. The gallery images should be directly in the folder which K2 creates, in this case /4/, and not /4/folder-name...

All the image show fine now!

I'm not sure if this helps but I installed SIG pro and didn't change the default folder pointing to images/stories/gallery and made sure I created a folder named gallery inside /images/stories. Worked fine, so I'm not sure why people are changing to /media/k2/galleries. I should have the site go live around sept. 2 and will post the link here to see it working.

The only issue I had at first was that I could not click on the tabs to upload a gallery. This was fixed by going to the plugin and choosing "slimbox (powered by mootools)" instead of the default "slimbox2 (powered by Jquery). One other site I was installing k2 has issues but I checked the php version and it was using 4.xxx I upgraded to 5.xxx and that worked fine. I think that sometimes we need to look outside of K2 to fix the issues we could be having with K2 because it is just a piece of the Joomla puzzle and they all have to cooperate with each other to work. I hope this points someone on the right direction of getting their problems solved.
