As of K2 v2.1
Native sh404SEF support
- K2 now fully supports sh404SEF natively.
- Includes 2 parameters to further extend sh404SEF's URL re-writing.

K2Joom, no longer uses sh404SEF as SEF is supported within K2.
We have enabled both Search Engine Friendly URLs and Use Apache mod_rewrite within the Joomla configuration.
In k2 parameters, sh404SEF Settings (optional) is left unchanged.
The only real change is then to the .htaccess file

OK having just installed sh404sef on my site, which I have also only recently upgraded to the latest K2 component, I am now quite thoroughly confused!
It is clear the sh404sef does not recognise K2 natively. The only way I can get proper titles and descriptions is by adding them manually, which is a pain. Am I to understand from this that I should not be using the sh404sef plugin because all the functionality is provided via K2 and I am wasting my time, or does sh404sef do things better in any areas?

I would think sh404 is a better solution because it handles other aspects of your J! installation. I am frequently disappointed in K2's direction. K2 is a great robust application, but it blows my mind that some of the simplest features are missing or even worse purposly left out. It's like, someone spent a lot of time creating a SEF function for J! that works well.... Oh well lets make our own that lacks a ton of features and not support it.
