Chris, I think I found the issue to my thumbnail issue.
The showthumb.php is pointing to Joomla Image folder and not the Media/K2 etc.

Will check yours too

Chris, I noticed in the showthumb.php linkts to thumbnail directory is commented out whilst in previous versions it is not. In both case they point to $_image_ = '../../../images/stories/'.$_GET;

in the k2 'sidebar' panel that "Max upload size" is 2M. I had trouble uploading zip files until I resized all images and made sure the zip file is under 2m. now it works.

anyone know how to increase the 2M?

I have seen another post where the user had stated that had increased the size to 10Mb, I will see if I can find it through my previous comments, and then post a link to it, so at least you can ask them for more information on how they did it.

Hi Simon, i´ve installed the SIG from Chris Yates and i´m getting {gallery}3{/gallery} instead of the thumbnails.
Do you have an idea of seams to be the problem?

At doesn´t seems to be me. The problem is i forgot to activate the plugin. Thanks anyway

Follow the instructions on the aticle jwsig problem solved and if you like you may download the plugin. I had faced the same problem but fixed the problem and decided to package it so that it can be used by non technical people with the ease it is meant to provide.

Tiago I also get the same error but how do I fix this? you mention you have to activate the plugin, but where is that done because when I install it and then go to plugins and it has a green tick next to it.

In my case, i just went to Extensions->plugins, and i just putted the tick box Green and it worked. Where are you downloading the SIG? Try download and install from another place. Any more question i will love to help if i can.

I'm running into this problem but the situtation is a little different.

 

I recently switched from a VPS to a dedicated server.  I moved about 20 sites that all have fully funcitoning k2 galleries.  After the move to the new server I'm getting this error message:



UNKNOWNARCHIVETYPE
Gallery upload error: Cannot extract archive!

 

All other aspects of my sites appear to be functioning correctly, including loading k2 item image and also loading joomla install packages (zips). 

 

The sidebar says my upload limit is set as 256Mb and my permissions are 0755 on the /media/k2 sub folders.

 

Since it is effecting all of my sites I suspect a setting on the server but don't know where to look.  I have also seen this issue on this forum from some other folks that moved their VM, but no answers.

 

Any help out there?
