k2 video adding only by url - like zoo was created by testa
hello,
the last time I tested both extensions - k2 and zoo.
I have to say that k2 is really great - there's only 1 thing I love in zoo and haven't got it work at k2:
In zoo I have a media element video. By simply entering an url - no matter if youtube, myspace, vimeo or what else (just the direct link to a video) the video is automatically displayed in the article. This is also very good and important for frontend submission. The users who send me an article can simply enter the url and don't need anything else (special tags or whatever).
Of course I've seen that k2 has a video tab and I also installed the allvideo plugin but I haven't found a way to get it work. Is there a plug or something else that I can get video's work the same easy way like zoo does? this would be amazing - hope for your answers so that I can start using k2 ;-)
thanks

Almost all of these Video upload sites have "copy code" option. I tested once and it works in ordinary K2 Item Video field.
Just C/P code and it works. It doesn´t need to be Youtube.

I meant "embed code". It is simple "iframe", and works allways in K2.

hey BBC,
I already tried to copy the link to the embed field.
Result is that inside the text is nothing, below the text (after author informations) there's a black box with title "related videos" and there I see the link...
that's the result at my end :(

I see, you cannot copy link there. It has to be iframe code. And iframe code give all major Video sites.

you're right - with iframe code the video is showing.
but this is not a suitable way for frontend submissions. also I'll use jomsocial at the side where only the url is needed to link a video - my users won't understand why there are 2 different ways... so this is not a way for me.
do you know a different way to only need the url - perhaps a plug or whatever?!

This is a different story. If you like i can help you to put a Info message above Video text field.
Some warning that they need to put "embed code" there, not URL.
