Hello

I can't browse the server for images to add to my articles/posts. I get the error unable to connect to back end.

Joomla media manager works OK
I tried disabling error reporting

I have disabled all unnecessary plugins

Problem still exists.

Very grateful of any help with this as it is quite problematic not to be able to use the media manager.

First of all from what you are saying you are getting this error in the frontend, right?
If yes, did you login with a super admin access and still get this error message?

Hello

Thanks for the reply.

I get the error when logged in as super admin in both the front end and the back end.

Hello

I have done that and now K2 is on version 2.6.8

Unfortunately Media Manager still gives the error 'unable to connect to backend'

What can you suggest please?

Many thanks

Is the path to your Media manager under images folder or you have directed it through another path?

There will be a request like "administrator/index.php?option=com_k2&view=media&task=connector" on Firebug console. Look at the response of the request and post it back here.

Hi. From the screenshots you provided it seems that your server is rejecting the request. What's the response status? You can see this in response headers section. Also try to do the same with Google Chrome. Chrome console may give you more information regarding the error.

I really don't know why this is happening but i searched for it and it seems that it may be caused by a browser add ( stackoverflow.com/questions/5585918/what-does-pending-mean-for-request-in-chrome-developer-window ) . Can you please test with a different browser. Or you can even try with a different computer. I also would like to know some information regarding your server setup ( Apache or NginX version and PHP version).
