Is the author name showing if you disable CB?

What does this code (in the item.php) produce?

<pre><?php var_dump($this->item->author); ?></pre>

I found the answers in the forums from few years ago; disabling CB author bot from plugin management makes the author name to show in K2 articles, this plugin is for joomla content.
