I just noticed that thumbnails aren't being generated on my SIG Pro installation. It was working fine. I installed the newest version tonight.

The files are in the cache, the tag is correct. If I open the page that calls the plug-in, the thumbnails look like they are being generated but only a white box appears for each thumbnail. If I right-click on any of the white boxes I see /plugins/content/jw_sigpro/includes/images/transparent.gif and if I left-click on each box, the image pops up. But if I go to download the image I get a File not found error message. I've cleared the cache, made sure the settings are correct, uninstalled and reinstalled the plug-in and ensured the permissions are correct using AdminTools. Joomla version 1.5.23. All the image files are named without illegal characters.

Any ideas?

I took a look, and all of the thumbnail files are there (in chrome, just click ctrl-shift-j) and you will see the list of errors, all 403, that are kicked out.
I too had a working gallery using version 2.05, but after installing the newest version the existing galleries had many issues...my existing galleries were all K2 item based...I also had a joomlart template (t3 framework)...i abandoned the new version until i think the issues I experienced are addressed. I simply re-installed the older version and configured it and it works fine now.
I did not have any galleries that were joomla article based, only K2 items...I am throwing this in your thread for accumulated information on the issues, maybe helpful to someone...
My issues were different...label.txt files were only showing partial, images were sized too large and did not re-size to smaller screens, the galleria display defaulted to a huge width, which took smaller images and blew them up so they were pixelated...
I like the extension, so I will be waiting for the next version updates...

I first noticed the problem while using the previous version - which had been working properly. Updating to the newest - 2.5.2 - din't correct it.

Your thumbnails are shown as being in this directory...
www.vermontbeekeepers.org/cache/jw_sigpro/jwsigpro_cache_ce0f1f049c_vbacap.jpg

If i remember correctly, the old thumbnails would be stored in the "www.vermontbeekeepers.org/cache" directory, and the newer version stores thumbnails in the "www.vermontbeekeepers.org/cache/jw_sigpro" directory...

Maybe if you actually re-created the gallery from scratch by uploading a zip file with the jpgs, it might work...i am assuming that you might have done what I did, update the extension without re-creating the gallery.
The 403 error is usually indicative of a block from the server for people addressing a directory from the address bar of the browser, such as site.com/images/pics...so, for some reason the server is blocking access to the directory itself...might check the permissions on your cache directory as well as the jw_sigpro directory...the thumbnails directory is created by the extension...maybe permissions problem...

Nope! Already tried that. With the old version I created a new directory and uploaded the jpg files to it. No good. Then did the same thing with the new version. Same problem. Deleted the cache, recreated again. Checked all permissions both with Admin Tools and manually and they are correct. Very frustrating because all of a sudden one day it just stopped working properly.

Your cache is unwritable - Check here please:http://www.vermontbeekeepers.org/cache/jw_sigpro/jwsigpro_cache_ce0f1f049c_dandelion01.jpg

You should contact your hosting company.

Well, looking at the folders in my ftp client the permissions show correctly for the folders and the files in that cache...

Hello,

I had the same issue but I think I solved it.

The files name included in the compressed folder that you upload to create the gallery must not contain any spaces.

eg. rename "my file.jpg" in "myfile.jpg" before compress the folder. It works!

Probably a small bug in SIG need to be fixed?

Hope this help.
Eric.
