I am having an identical problem with this. 

What makes this interesting is that for testing purposes, I tried an existing subfolder in the images folder that was already existing. 

All of the images that were there show up fine, but any new image I add into that folder does not appear.

Help!

Notice that the existing images in the folder are already there, but any of the new images I copied into here are not showing.

Did you clean your cache folder?

I am also having this exact problem with mine. Need help!

Yes I went through everything, and I've tried the zipping method as mentioned, but I've had no luck so far. I've been at it a couple of days now and I'm starting to go a bit crazy :)
