Thanks Katia - I had brackets in my file name and after removign it worked just fine.

Is it ok to use underscore _ and dashes - in image file names?

Underscores yes but not dashes!

my filenames are
screen_scmgr_excel1.gif
screen_scmgr_win1.jpg

but the thumbnail is not showing, not in Chrome, not in IE9

I have removed all dashes from the entire file path:
images/stories/scmgr_windows/screenshots_en/screen_scmgr_win1.jpg

but I still have blank white rectangles instead of thumbnails.

I even tried removing the numbers from my filenames, but this is getting ridiculous.

Can anyone offer a suggestion?
