Can't Browse Server 'invalid backend response" was created by Bob Dobbs
Hi
I am using K2 2.5 and I can't use the browse Server option when adding an image in a K2 item. I get the message
'invalid backend response Data is not JSON"
Its a bit of a biatch, ideas anyone?
I notice that the media manager in the K2 control panel exhibits the same behaviour

What browser are you using? If you're using Internet Explorer, try switching to Firefox or Google's Chrome. Does this still happen for you?

Hi thanks for the response.
I am using Firefox , I have tried that in safe mode, I installed Chrome...no joy, fired up Internet Destroyer, and still no joy... tried a fresh 1.7.2 install on a fresh DB , it doesn't appear to be a problem with the template or the browser

Well, I am happy to see that I am not alone, but sad that someone else is in the same hole. I have tried K2 2.5.0 on Joomla 1.5 and 1.7 and the same behavior is exhibited. I am bummed.

Hi,
I've tried to reproduce the problem on my side but no success.
I'm on a localhost with J!1.7.2 and K2 2.5.0. I've tried to set no permissions on folders (000 as Unix permission on the 'images' folder but i just have a 'no access' error (which is good !).
Maybe screenshots or backend access to check JS errors or other would be good...

I am suspecting that it has to do with the fact that my host does not set the upload_tmp_dir in the php.ini file. Could this be the source of our issue?
