Can't really use 1.7 for production sites and neither can we use SVN for live sites either ... It's good for testing though ... Will try somethings with this combo on a test site for now ...

Jason please do yourself a favour and stop posting nonsense, you clearly haven't got a clue what you're talking about.

This extension is dead.

I believe the reason is simple... Joomla now does what K2 did

Joomla 1.7 or 1.6 does not do what K2 does at all.

K2 is far better, the only similarity I can see is nested categories and that's about it!

I agree with Paul: Joomla's team introduced a lot of new features but noone of them is in conflict with K2.

Some examples:

- Custom fileds

- Tags

- Author box

- Comments

- Header image

and many more.

It's true that with A LOT of other components it's possible to replicate these functions but you have to use A LOT of other components.

I think that if k2 team works quickly k2 could be a great open extensions for many years!

The big one for me is the parameters settings in K2, where you can set the way an article or category appears by category.

In 1.6/1.7 you have to write your own in php.

1.6/1.7 doesn't even come close to K2.
