but for some reason when I try to access a link to k2 objects from the front end of the website,
it comes up with a 403: unauthorized error.
This only shows up for K2 content.
Have you come across this issue before?

Today I downloaded 'import for K2', under the assumption that it would work in Joomla 3.x. My mistake! :S
So I found this thread and checked your twitter account. I understand that you have some basic import/export functionality ready.
Would you be willing to share that soon (like a test release / not for production purposes)?
I have to migrate over one thousand k2 items really soon and am willing to accept the fact that it is untested. I will carefully test it for my purposes before I use it on my real site. Maybe it'll work for me. And if things go wrong, I'll always have a backup.
Thanks & regards,
Erik

I could send you the recent developing version without any guarantee. It might be even not installing correctly

I have bought your import CSV to K2 plugin in.
However I am having a problem with importing my CSV file.
I get an error that says:
importing items, please stand by
items were imported, but with some problems:
cannot open file: C:\wamp\www\NASAA\tmp/NASAA-V2.csv
Row: undefined / memory peak: 9.5 MB
Import finished
There is nothing in K2. It should also be noted that I am actually not working on wamp server locally but on my own live server.
Sorry to ask, but Im a bit of a noob here.
Regards,
Nath

does your server run Windows or Linux/UNIX?
If it runs Linux or UNIX please check the joomla tmp folder settings.
Does it work on your local wamp server?
And please tell us what version of the extension you are using.

is there any support for K2 v2.6 in the roadmap ?
I used this component to migrate from Joomla-1.5+K2-2.6 to Joomla-2.5+K2-2.6 and it worked really poorly (this was pointed to me as a migration tool ):
1) categories are messed up.
K2 admin panel for categories shows errors for each category:
Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in E:\Web_Pages\preview\html\new\administrator\components\com_k2\views\categories\view.html.php on line 78
2) I've got many imported articles "Imported Item - 2013-11-03 23:23:39"
Any idea whether this could be related to K2-2.6 ?

Thanks for getting back to me.
I'm using the latest version from your site :
0.9a, 2012-10-03
Joomla source is 1.5.26
Joomla destination is: Joomla! 2.5.14 Stable
K2 on both source and destination is 2.6.7.
I already did the trick mentioned before to set the language column to "*" instead of "".
Regards,
PS I could not manage to add the csv file. I will try tomorrow again.

If you are using the same version of K2 on both sited it might be the easiest way just to copy the K2 SQL database tables themself. e.g with phpmyadmin

Actually, no that does not work. Because K2 (same version) use a different layout for managing theIndividual IT wrote: If you are using the same version of K2 on both sited it might be the easiest way just to copy the K2 SQL database tables themself. e.g with phpmyadmin

Can I use this tool to "clone" all my K2 setup and content from one site to another?
This is what I have:
- Source site runs J2.5.16 + K2 2.6.7
- Target site runs J3.2.0 + K2 2.6.7
Is this possible with your tool?
thank you
Luc.

Anyway, I have bought the K2 import/export component and installed it into two sites to transfer the K2 articles between them.
I can generate a CSV file without a problem but I have tried to use both 0.9stable and 0.9a to import the file into a Joomla 2.5 site and non of the buttons work at all.
Also the instructions button on both sites generates a page not found error.
What do you suggest?
Regards
Stuart

Thank you very much for reporting!
What do you mean by the not working buttons? Which buttons do you mean?
You can find the instructions here: www.individual-it.net/en/Instructions-for-K2-Import-Component.html

Thanks for the reply.
I have installed the import export tool on both sites and can export from the 1.5 site without a problem.
When I try and import the CSV file on the 2.5 site I can select the CSV file from my computer within the admin screen but if I press the import items button nothing happens. I am also unable to export from the 2.5 site as this button does not function either.
If I push the Browse server button it turns yellow but then nothing happens.
I am currently setting up the new site using the following type of ip address
http://123.456.789.10/sitename.com/
I do not know if this will affect the function of this component or not but everything else works fine
Many thanks
Stuart
