I would try breaking the import into smaller chunks. As there is not a way to do this with default k2, i would first try:
phpmyadmin - export to csv, bring the file to local machine
use xcel or local mysql, or other database program to split the file into multiple csv files
then i would use www.individual-it.net/en/Joomla/ to import the articles to items.
If your articles are divided into groups by joomla section and/or category that may be a way to use phpmyadmin to break them into chunks

Hi!

I'm having some problems with this plugin. When I try to put a Gallery which have 70+ images, the article goes extremely slow and even show SQL errors. If I disable the gallery (removing the line) it shows correctly.

Also, some of them were showed in black but if you click in them, they appear correctly.

Do you know how to solve this?

AllI use XCloner to backup my joomla sites and restore to a different host, been using this for a couple of years. However, before my next move I checked out a site I built on my local pc, setup another test directory, another new DB (empty) and ran a restore on a backup I had taken. I want to stream some videos from another server. Issue can be reproduced thus:1. create an item2. Under video tab, select "browse server/use remote video" tab3. Enter URL of remote video.4. Save item5. Preview of video fails with error.Instead of  remotedomain.com/path/video.flvthe video URL supplied by K2 is localdomain.net/http://remotedomain.com/path/video.flvSo far I have found:The plugin code is being stored properly in the items table in the database:

However the flvplayer rendered on the page sees this address instead:

when I disable the plugin so the page will reveal the plugin code instead of the player, I see:

so though the plugin code is being stored in the database properly, it
apparently is being delivered by k2 improperly to the plugin.I don't know where to go from here to troubleshoot further. This is my first time posting, I hope I am in the right area.  I also searched but couldn't find anything relating to my problem.After updating to 2.3 I keep getting 2 to 4 of these warnings messages across the top of the category pages on the front end of my site. on line 447.There weren't any error messages during the update and everything seems to be working correctly except for these warning messages.  I am on a hosted server with Joomla 1.5.15, PHP 5.2.12 and MySQL 5.0.90.  Any help would be appreciated.

I finally did:

1- backup to jos_k2_*** tables in phpmyadmin
2- backup media/k2 folder in ftp
3- removed k2 v2.2
4- installed k2 v2.3
5- restored sql backup from point 1 (restored the original jos_k2_*** tables)
6- removed .txt from each media/k2/attachtments file (you can do this in your pc with a multiple renamer software)
7- uploaded k2 folder to media/k2 in ftp (overwrote everything)
8- removed .txt manually from each record in the jos_k2_attachtments table

It is a long and kinda complicated process, but I guess it is working fine now
PS: Software still shows v.2.2 in the control panel... I guess we'll have to do another upgrade soon

YOu can verify this with phpmyadmin
it should say MySQL charset: UTF-8 when you look at the database

Anytime I try to add or edit and item in the front end, all I get when I click the link is an oversized lightbox appears with a blank page inside, no source and no error reporting either (error reporting is set to maximum). I also have the same problem when trying to moderate the comments for the page. I would like to fix both the blank page issue as well as the oversized lightbox window.

Am slowly reading through what you can do / hos to on K2 and tried to do something on my site and after changing something on the Global section a message has come up: Database error. unable to connect to the database: Could not connect to MySQL.

 

As i've not much experience maybe one of you can tell me what to do please.

 

Do you have your site backed up before the crash?
How many K2 items do you have?
Have you read about the error you are getting - www.databasejournal.com/features/mysql/article.php/3300511/Repairing-Database-Corruption-in-MySQL.htm (scroll down to error)

If you have a large table/tables in k2 with many items, seek expert mysql help before proceeding - especially if you dont have a backup before the errors.

That looks like the normal sql statements that are used every time a page gets loaded.
Since your browzer will not report an error, there may be something in the template causing this.
Check all those settings also.

can help me with this. I'm trying to install the component K2 on my site
and it gives me an error. the same is as follows.Warning:

manager after the attempt, I notice that the menu component K2 and the
menu appears on the control panel. In the database
the new tables are created by the installer. In the module
manager does not show any of K2. When I try to import the articles of
joomla, the first item I get an error. In the attached
picture you can see what appears when you try to import the item.I'm
