Error at installation then php error

Category: English K2 Community

Hi there, using K2 2.5.5 with Joomla 1.5.25.

Having the following error after install:

JInstaller::install: Erreur : Impossible de trouver un fichier XML Joomla! d'installation dans ce pack!
Unable to detect manifest file

Then K2 seems to be installed, but a php error persist on top position of the site:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/guitar88/public_html/libraries/joomla/database/database/mysqli.php on line 695

Warning: array_key_exists() [function.array-key-exists]: The second argument should be either an array or an object in /home/guitar88/public_html/plugins/system/k2.php on line 344

It may vary a little bit depending on what I am browsing on the site.

WHEN I disabled the K2 plugin "System - K2" the error disapears.

The site is significaly slower with K2 installed even when "System - K2" is disabled.

Cheers.

Hi,

We have developed a website featuring real estate, tourism, education and business services including some news portal stuffs. Our main news tool is of course K2 since it is the only CCK extension that fits our needs and also that have all required features.

Our current website configuration:

Joomla 1.5.25 (We cannot move to Joomla 2.5 since we are using some other component that are not yet compatible with Joomla 2.5).
K2 2.5.5
Jomsocial 2.4.3 etc.

The website was developed with an older version of K2, that is, K2 2.5.4 but after we update to the new version of k2 2.5.5, we start having some issue with the website, not such big issue but some page load stuffs and while browsing the web, we saw some forum that advised us to run Joomla in debug mode to see what might be the issue and when we did so, our home page just disappear with an error 500 with the following detailed error:

JDatabaseMySQL::query: 1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ') GROUP BY comments.itemID' at line 11 SQL=SELECT content.id AS id, COUNT(comments.itemID) AS count FROM xxxx_k2_items AS content LEFT JOIN xxxx_k2_comments AS comments ON comments.itemID = content.id WHERE comments.published AND ( ) GROUP BY comments.itemID ;

We have replaced the default commenting system of K2 with the JComments plugin plg_k2jcomments_v1.1.

The xxxx replace our current website database prefix, we remove it since it might be of security concern, our team is not composed of experienced developer and we are even quite unaware about database stuffs and php issue and we sincerely hope that we might get some help from the community to help us to solve this issue.

Our website is already productive, therefore, we would like to sort out this issue as soon as possible, therefore, please, someone, help us with it.

K2 2.54 -> 2.55 upgrade failure...

Category: English K2 Community

Hi,

I am trying to upgrade my Joomla 1.5.23 site from K2 2.54 to 2.55 but fail to get the upgrade to work.

When I upload and install the 2.55 zip I receive the error message...

JInstaller::install: Error! Could not find a Joomla! XML setup file in the package.
Unable to detect manifest file

but below that the message "Install Component Success" is shown and needless to say, the ZIP file does contain a manifest.xml file.

After that my site is compromised with font sizes being changed, erratic behavior and error messages such as ...

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /homepages/0/dxxxxxxxxx/htdocs/websitek2/libraries/joomla/database/database/mysql.php on line 678
Warning: array_key_exists() [function.array-key-exists]: The second argument should be either an array or an object in /homepages/0/dxxxxxxxxxx/htdocs/websitek2/plugins/system/k2.php on line 344

being shown at the top (site ID x'ed out for privacy reasons).

I can remedy this problem by downgrading to 2.54, but would of course like to benefit from the cool new features of 2.55. Is there anything I have to do in prep for the upgrade process? Previous upgrades worked like a charm...

Regards,
Ingmar

[Solved] 'This is not an image file' when trying to upload or link to an image

Category: Frontpage Slideshow

Hi,

I have read a similar post regarding this (forum.joomlaworks.net/frontpage-slideshow-%28for-joomla!%29/this-is-not-an-image-file-23185/) but have not managed to figure out whether the issue was resolved in that post.

I am also getting this issue. Everytime I try to upload an image or link to one on the server I get this error message.

I have the latest version of FPSS which I downloaded yesterday and installed. PHP & MySQL are 5.3.8 & 5.0.95 respectively.

All help much appreciated.

Mohsin

Unable to install on 1.6.5

Category: Frontpage Slideshow

Hello,

I just bought FrontpageSlideshow-v3.2.0_j1.5-2.5 and I'm trying to install it on Joomla 1.6.5. There is a an:

Call to undefined method JDatabaseMySQL::quoteName() in /home/hhhh/public_html/administrator/components/com_fpss/tables/slide.php on line 51

Afterwards I get this arror Error loading component: com_fpss, 1.

After I uninstall and install again just get this:

        * JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find Joomla XML setup file
        * JInstaller: :Install: Cannot find XML setup file

And I'm unable to manage the categories or go to the admin area.

Is there a way to find a workarround? I upgraded to 1.7 and installed it without any problems but some of my other stuff stopped working, I'm using yoo_planet that has some custom elements and it breaks.

So is there a way to make this component work on 1.6.5?

Best regards,
Thanks in advance!

Joomfish and FPSS - error with foreach()

Category: Frontpage Slideshow

So I followed the documentation, expecting to update (install over a previous version) FPSS after Joomfish has already been installed.  I expected the previous content of the FPSS, but it is not showing. Some errors show instead.  I expect the prevoius article content to still be present, but I have to fix the errors first.  These errors are:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/content/i/n/t/intseccorp/html/dev/administrator/components/com_fpss/views/slides/view.html.php on line 51

Filter   Go  Reset

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/content/i/n/t/intseccorp/html/dev/administrator/components/com_fpss/views/slides/tmpl/default.php on line 62

I have yet to get into looking at the php, but that is my next step.

Joomla v 1.5.25
FPSS v3.1.0 (I don't know what the previous version was.)

PHP version 5.2.17
MySQL version 5.0.91-log

Moving to a new server

Category: English K2 Community

Hello,

Tearing my hair out a bit here.

I am trying to move a website to another server. This is the website on the new server

deepblue.a10smhost.com/

The client will not let us have back end access so we have had to move the files and the SQL database manually.

now if you click on Apartments, that utilizes K2 but the page will not load and bring up a HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error) message.

Now this should be an exact replica of the website on the old server and I have no idea where to start looking to fix this. i have seached these forums and not found anything.

Are there some setting I need to change here or is it possible that SH404SEF is messing it up somehow?

Thanks for your time!

403 error when moving mysql tables to J! 2.5

Category: English K2 Community

Ok so i fixed all the permission and STILL i get a 403 error. I made a new menu item and tried assigning different parts of the component. I tried multiple categories, i tried single categories, i tried single items. All fail.

Categories listings display empty pages and single items display 403 errors... I am out of ideas. On a clean install of K2 without importing the tables, everything works fine. Where could the problem be?!?!

EDIT:
There we go! The category permissions also had to be set! Hurr durr

403 error when moving mysql tables to J! 2.5

Category: English K2 Community

Well this error happens when i didn't use jupgrade (i did use it but that gave me another error).

When I try to access any part of the K2 component I get a 403 error. But i will take another look at the permissions.

Also all of this happens in the FRONTEND. Back-end works fine! :)

If you migrate with jupgrade, must set the access level to public. Jupgrade don´t do that. Only open the article or the menu and save it

check to make sure the category is set to public. mine were all left blank. I tried doing a mass update in mysql but it did not take the change even though it seems to in phpmyadmin so I just set the categories to public one at a time.

403 error when moving mysql tables to J! 2.5

Category: English K2 Community

So i decided to upgrade to joomla 2.5 and i'm testing the new setup. I am trying to move my K2 database over to the new joomla. But after importing the K2 tables I get a 403 error when I try to access ANY K2 item or anything related to K2.

I already changed the userid's for every entry to the current super user but it won't work.

What am I missing here? Is there a better way to move k2 to the new joomla installation?

Thanks!

K2, JoomFish and the "Fatal error"

Category: English K2 Community

Hello, everyone @k2 community,

to be honest I'm not that new to K2 itself - I have already build three sites with K2 integrated in the content. All of them work fine. However, I faced this problem the other night while trying to make K2 work with Joomfish. Had some problems with JoomFish not seeing K2 realted stuff but managed to sort that out after reading this post here: community.getk2.org/forum/topics/joomfish-and-k2-how-do-they I did exactly as Olivier Nolbert suggested:

Hi,
If you've installed JoomFish after K2, and don't want to make a full K2 update, just unzip the K2 zip install file in local and copy/upload all files under "/administrator/components/com_joomfish/contentelements" in the same directory on your website.
Olivier

After doing that I'm able to see and translate all things related to K2 (inc. K2 extra fileds, K2 categories, etc.) except K2 Items. That's a problem coz that's what I need to translate... After going to components/Joom!Fish/Translation in joomla admin and choosing the language and (Content elements) K2 Items from the drop-down menu I get the following error Fatal error: Call to undefined method translationFilter::translationFilter() in /home/angrupe/domains/iseta.lt/public_html/administrator/components/com_joomfish/contentelements/translationK2_categoryFilter.php on line 18. None of that happens when I choose for example K2 Categories from the same drop-down menus. Here's how the above mention php file looks like:

<?php
/**
* @version $Id: translationK2_categoryFilter.php 1034 2011-10-04 17:00:00Z joomlaworks $

// Don't allow direct linking

class translationK2_categoryFilter extends translationFilter {
function translationK2_categoryFilter($contentElement) {
$this->filterNullValue = -1;
$this->filterType = "catid";
$this->filterField = $contentElement->getFilter("K2_category");
parent::translationFilter($contentElement);
}

function _createFilter() {
$database = &JFactory::getDBO();
if (!$this->filterField)
return "";
$filter = "";
if ($this->filter_value != $this->filterNullValue) {
$sql = "SELECT tab.id FROM #__k2_items as tab WHERE tab.catid=$this->filter_value";
$database->setQuery($sql);
$ids = $database->loadObjectList();
$idstring = "";
foreach ($ids as $pid) {
if (strlen($idstring) > 0)
$idstring .= ",";
$idstring .= $pid->id;
}
$filter = "c.id IN($idstring)";
}
return $filter;
}

function _createfilterHTML() {
if (!$this->filterField)
return "";
$db = &JFactory::getDBO();
$categoryOptions = array();
$categoryOptions[] = JHTML::_('select.option', '-1', JText::_('K2_SELECT_CATEGORY'));

$sql = "SELECT DISTINCT p.id, p.name FROM #__k2_categories as p, #__".$this->tableName." as c WHERE c.".$this->filterField."=p.id ORDER BY p.name";
$db->setQuery($sql);
$cats = $db->loadObjectList();
$catcount = 0;
foreach ($cats as $cat) {
$categoryOptions[] = JHTML::_('select.option', $cat->id, $cat->name);
$catcount++;
}
$catnameList = array();
$catnameList["title"] = JText::_('K2_CATEGORIES');
$catnameList["html"] = JHTML::_('select.genericlist', $categoryOptions, 'catid_filter_value', 'class="inputbox" size="1" onchange="document.adminForm.submit();"', 'value', 'text', $this->filter_value);
return $catnameList;
}
}
?>

Line number 18 I think is function translationK2_categoryFilter($contentElement)

What could be the problem...?
I would really appreciate your help!
